Jaipur is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Everywhere you look it’s like stepping back in time, with its colorfully-attired women, men in their spotless dhotis and equally colorful turbans and the sight of the camels finding their way amid the vehicular traffic. You can’t help but be amazed at what this city has to offer; you can shop, take in art and culture or just enjoy the city’s romance...

Jaipur also reminds of the pink shades that can be seen all over, and the camels that rest on the sides of the road, which I've never seen anywhere in south india. I loved every bid of Jaipur..And the temple, forts, Chowks, bazaar and katchoris..Din't taste Jelabi though :(

Thanks Arti for a really interesting oversight of Jaipur! My husband went there back in May and said it was too hot for him but I think that was the worst time to go. I'd love to check it out sometime. When is the coolest time of year to go?

@EmmaK You are right. May is the hottest and should generally be avoided to Jaipur. The coolest months would be either January or February and they are the best time to visit the city.
@gigihawaii I think I missed out mentioning the state. It is capital of the state of Rajasthan in India.

ReplyDeleteLooks like Jaipur offers everything I expect when travelling abroad. Your writing is so intriguing, Arti, that makes me in the mood for being in the city. Architecture tour would be perfect for me as personally I prefer the state of somewhat erosion as natural progression to the renovated architectures. I must be careful not to get lost as I tend to wander into farther and farther being absorbed in taking pictures – surely I’d be into that. I’d also enjoy people watching, especially women in such colorful clothes, and eating so that I’d gain weight.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fascination Jaipur is!! A trip to Amer Fort is a kind of Time Slip for me, taking me to the olden days. I feel the structures are quiet story tellers of the long history. I love this tranquil and solemn atmosphere.
I also want to try Jalebis.

Jaipur is a pink city of the rajasthan,there are so many such a cool places and the culture is so wonderful.I visited Jaipur a few months back and I really want to go again and again.I miss this place.
