A couple of weeks back, British Airways launched their new advert on you tube touching the pulse of newly weds in a traditional Indian family setup:
The tagline: Go further to get closer
The tagline did resonate in me, at a slightly different level may be, but yes, it did.
So when a similar question was put up by IndiBlogger: How far would you go to get closer to someone you love? as part of their contest in collaboration with British Airways, it got me thinking...
So how far could I go for someone I loved and who would that be?
.. Mom, dad, family, or friends… or… ?

I have been procrastinating making videos/films of my kids videos over the years....what software have you used....must make a start! Well done and and you must do more of these.

DeleteThe program I used is stupeflix, an online movie editor and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking of giving video making a start. The best thing about it is it is very neat and clutter free! You said it, it's all about making a start, so go ahead and do it. After you are done with the video, don't forget to share it with me. :)

I have been working on this continuously for the past 3 days, burning the midnight oil, testing multiple softwares and rejecting even more ... at one point of time, I was even considering of dropping the whole idea of publishing this thing. Very innovative rather from the regular posts. Good luck for the contest. May I give a small word if you don't mind? When you are changing from slide to slide, I felt the picture had been removed very rapidly. If it could be a few seconds slower, I thought that would be great. Like a slow motion or moving a bit slow. And this is just my personal opinion. I myself don't know how to make videos but I am telling this from a viewer perspective. Hope you don't mind. Cheers!!

What a nice video, with music matching it nicely comfortably soothingly! You always spare no efforts to make your blog so creative and attractive and useful as well. I only wish I could see each scene more slowly to appreciate the shots and words.Of course I could see it repeatedly, though.

Your creativity never ceases to amaze me. I thought just a slide show or normal video. But you gave us so much more. I love how you captured the video and sharing how far you would go. But a little slower would have allowed us more time to resonate with each stage you shared. I can see you put so much time and thought into projects that are dear to your heart as I see this one is. About the compilation of the video, I have used an online movie editor called 'stupeflix'. After you create an account there, you can upload your pictures and then play around with the editor to customize and create the video as you like it. You can choose a basic template to start with (as I have done here, a diary theme, goes well with my blog) and then customize it with all the various options like inserting text overlay, slide movement, time, order, music, etc. There is an option.. 'add text overlay (or something)' on the pictures and that's how I could add notes to the pictures.
Just create an account and take some time looking around. Initially, it might look daunting but overall it's pretty neat and once you get the push, it's really fun.
I hope this helps and I hope you do go ahead and make one for yourself, in case you need any further help, just give me a shout. :)

While I was engrossed in seeing it, I felt the same thing with cosmos: before finishing reading the words, the scenes changed, maybe because my reading speed is slow.
