Ways of Train Ticket Booking
You can do online train booking for SL class 3A, class 1A, 3E class, 2A class, or classes in the CC category. The unreserved ticket booking can be done in two of the following ways:
Offline General/Tatkal Booking
It is the method of ticket booking in which the customer has to go to their nearest railway station to purchase the ticket at the booking counter. Consider the following points during the booking process:
● Tickets for non-reserved classes can be issued on the same day and can be used for specific hours only.
● Reservations for reserved classes are available at any time through the counter until sixty days prior to departure.
● The Tatkal booking window opens each morning at 10 am for AC classes and closes at 11 am for sleeper class reservations.
● There is no transaction fee when you book at the counter.
● Platform tickets are available at counters and typically range from 10 to 50 rupees, depending on the notices or railway circulars.
Online General or Tatkal Booking
It is the most efficient method for booking tickets. One must establish the official IRCTC username and password. User tickets can be easily booked and cancelled through numerous third-party apps, such as redRail and so on.
