I just finished a guest post for Indie Travel Podcast, an independent travel hub with regular audio and video podcasts along with articles by travellers from all over the world hosted by Craig and Linda Martin, and I am really happy about it!!!

But what makes me happier is the fact that today is the auspicious day of MahaShivratri. According to the scriptures, rituals performed to please Lord Shiva on this day please Him the most. And my post is on His city - the city where the 3 eyed Lord of the universe resides - Varanasi.

an eternal city with vibrant past and myriad attractions…

Varanasi is yes the oldest city in the world.
have lot heard about it.
Many foreigners visit Varanasi.
My memories of benares is that the priests hound you like anything, this is etched in memory. I had been to baneras maybe in 1985
